Vintage Wells 14K GF Enamel Pearl Swallow Brooch | Blue Enamel Bird Brooch

This brooch has a blue enamel swallow bird on a gold wire with a cultured pearl accent. Swallows are birds that mate for life and always return to their nests; for that reason they have been used to symbolize love and faithfulness. They are often given to young couples on their wedding day and as a good luck charm to travelers to symbolize the wish for their safe return home. Wells Inc. was a jewelry manufacturing company founded in 1922 in Attleboro, MA which ceased operations in 1978.

Condition: There is a very minimal chip to the enamel right near where the body and the tail feathers are (you may not be able to notice by eye but I could see it using my loop). The closure is in working condition.
