The charm is created from an antique coin and is decoratively hand engraved the name "Lizzie" on one side with engraved border and little scrolled accents. The coin used to create the token was a US Seated Liberty Quarter Dollar. I had the token converted from a pin to a pendant by my jeweler on a handmade coin bezel holder making it ready to wear.
Love tokens are coins where one or sometimes both sides have been smoothed down and engraved with scenes, initials, names and/or phrases. During the Victorian era, these were often given as “tokens of love” among lovers, friends and family. They served as tangible reminders of their bonds, love and in difficult times grief.

Marks: unmarked; coin acid tested as silver, handmade coin bezel holder is sterling silver.
