The gold oval buckle has taille d’epargné design (black enamel tracery) in a vine motif going around the piece. The three prongs swivel to open and secure. This is a small buckle which may have been used for a sash. There is a ring on the back which makes me believe their may have been some sort of safety chain attached at one point.
