The brooch features a lovely pietra dura mosiac of a white flower. It has over 5 colors white, brown and variations of green creating the flower against the black stone. The pietra dura is framed with two rows of twisted wire border.
Weight: 3.1 grams
Measurements: measures approximately 1 inch long and 7/8 inches wide.
Marks: Unmarked. May be gold filled/plated.
Condition: The brooch has a working c-clasp closure. The closure may have been changed from an older clasp somewhere along its history because you can see solder marks. There is a crackle/haze to the front where the flower is (is visible at different angles-see photos). There is a piece of glass/plastic over the top of the stone and I can’t tell if it is a coating or something else causing the haze. I am not able to take the piece apart due to it being soldered on the back to see if it can be cleaned off.
