Vintage Silver Murat Sword Brooch | Red Enamel Sword Brooch | Sterling Murat Shriners Brooch
The brooch is in the shape of a sword with the word Murat in red enamel facing towards the hilt. Murat is a reference to Murat Shriners of Indianapolis (part of Shriners International). The Murat Shriners were named after Joachim Murat; a French cavalry leader who was one of Napoleon Bonaparte's most celebrated marshals and was appointed King of Naples.

Marks: Balfour Sterling. L.G. Balfour was a jewelry maker located in Attleboro, Massachusetts who made U.S. Military Insignia, high school, college, and football championship rings, fraternity pins and jewelry from 1913 to 1996.

The sword has a vermeil/silver gilt plating which gives it a gold color.
